Title: Hard Work Deserves Fair Pay!
Time Frame: 1 Month
Plan of Action: Pass out fliers and talk to community about Target's© refusal to pay fair wages and its redlining of Chicago communities.
Purpose of Action: The Hood has always known: You don't work, you don't eat. But Corporate America has a different motto: Work for us and you might make enough to buy a meal or two.
The “Big Box Living Wage Ordinance
requires Chicago retail stores that are
90,000 sq. ft or bigger pay their
employees a living wage of $10.10 by
July 2010.
Target pressured Mayor Daley to veto
this ordinance BY REDLINING*
Chicago neighborhoods.
Although inflation goes up every year, big business wants to keep paying you the same thing, even if means that your grind will equal no food. Do something before it's too late! www.raisewages.org
* Redlining is the practice of denying or increasing the cost of services, such as housing or
insurance, to residents of certain areas. In the United States, the practice is illegal when the
criteria are based on race, religion, gender, familial status (if there are children in a family),
disability, or ethnic origin.

and pay LIVING WAGES while doing business.”
